E-Organics Participates in the IUCN Leaders Forum 2023 in Geneva, Contributing Practitioner Insights to Global Nature and Climate Dialogues

Published: January 2026

E-Organics was represented at the second IUCN Leaders Forum held in Geneva, Switzerland, from October 11 to 13, 2023. The forum convened a select group of global leaders, policymakers, researchers, and innovators to advance dialogue on biodiversity conservation, climate mitigation, and sustainable financing for nature.

Held under the theme “Global goals for nature: tracking progress, financing success”, the IUCN Leaders Forum focused on accelerating action toward international biodiversity and climate commitments, including the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. Discussions explored how governments, the private sector, and civil society can align policy, finance, and innovation to deliver measurable outcomes for nature and people.

E-Organics participated as part of a cohort of fifteen young changemakers selected globally, contributing field-based perspectives from its work in climate-smart agriculture and sustainable land management in Ghana. The organization shared insights from implementing farmer-centered solutions that integrate data, community engagement, and regenerative practices to address climate risks while supporting livelihoods.

Key sessions featured high-level contributions from IUCN President Razan Al Mubarak, Swiss explorer and climate advocate Bertrand Piccard, and Uganda’s Minister of State for Environment, Beatrice Atim Odwong Anywar. Speakers emphasized the urgency of moving beyond commitments toward concrete, finance-backed actions that deliver impact at scale. Particular attention was given to innovative financing mechanisms, private sector engagement, and the role of nature-based solutions in climate adaptation.

E-Organics’ participation highlighted the importance of grounding global frameworks in real-world implementation. Drawing from experience working with smallholder farmers, especially women, the organization reinforced that effective biodiversity and climate strategies must reflect local realities, production systems, and community decision-making processes.

Engagement at the IUCN Leaders Forum also created space for peer exchange and collaboration with other changemakers driving solutions across conservation, agriculture, and climate innovation. These exchanges have continued to inform E-Organics’ approach to aligning agritech solutions with global biodiversity and climate goals.

Through its participation in the IUCN Leaders Forum in Switzerland, E-Organics strengthened its positioning as a practitioner organization operating at the intersection of agriculture, climate resilience, and nature conservation. The experience reinforced the organization’s commitment to ensuring that smallholder farmer perspectives remain central to global efforts to protect ecosystems while advancing sustainable food systems.
